Waiting Game

I know I still have a little over 4 weeks to go, but they say "full term" is anywhere between 37 and 40 weeks. In that case, Brady could make his appearance in less than two weeks! I really don't think he will be early, but just thinking about that makes it seem so close. I have been getting a ton of Braxton Hicks contractions, which are really starting to hurt. From what I have read, that just means my body is getting ready for labor, but not necessarily an indicator that labor is just around the corner. In our class they taught us to wait to go to the hospital until the contractions are 5-1-1. So, contractions that are 5 minutes apart, that last one minute and continue the pattern for one hour. I have my first appointment next week where my doctor will start checking every week for dilation and effacement, so that will be exciting. Don't worry...I will keep everyone posted! :)

We plan on finishing up a lot of little pre-baby projects around the house. We have so many "baby appliances" to put together and we are organizing all the boxes of gifts and putting away things we won't be needing right away. Right now I am using the crib for storage, so that will have to change. Most of his newborn clothes have been washed and are ready to go, but we need to make one more trip to Babies R Us and get some last necessities. After that, we should be all set and it will just be a waiting game.

Baby Shower!

Saturday was so much fun. My best friends from college threw me a great baby shower. Everything was perfect and Brady made a haul. We received so many wonderful gifts, I wish I could mention them all individually. I have a lot of thank you notes to write! Here are some pics from the shower.

5 Weeks left!!!

Wow...I am really feeling it now. Colby told me last night that I must be having the baby soon, because there is NO WAY I could possibly get any bigger. I told him to just wait, I can guarantee I will get bigger. He just thinks my belly is about to explode and cannot even imagine how it can grow any more. I think it is hilarious. This belly is so big and every time I pass a mirror, I can't help but stare at it in awe. It is so fun! My whole belly is getting much harder and I think Brady is running out of room. He moves now like he is annoyed and trying to make more room for himself. Not much longer, hold on little guy.

I have a baby shower this weekend that my college girlfriends are throwing for me. I am so excited about it. I will make sure to post pictures on Monday.

First Mother's Day

Even though Brady hasn't yet made his appearance, this was officially my first Mother's Day. Colby surprised me on Saturday with a pregnancy massage at the Red Door Spa and then brunch. The massage was awesome and even though I couldn't lay on my stomach, it was just as good. It was so nice to be pampered.

We had brunch with the soon to be Grandmothers today. It was a great weekend and now Colby gets to look forward to his first Father's Day next month.

Colby's Work Shower

Colby's group at work was so sweet to throw us a great baby shower. They catered in Mexican Food, had dessert and decorated so cute! I ate WAY too much! It was really fun and we received so many wonderful gifts for Brady.

Nursery Pics

Nursery Update

We are almost done with the nursery, just a few paint touch ups, but it looks great. We got our chair, the new rug, some new pictures and Brady's name for above his bed. Hanging his name above the crib required an Engineering Degree, but we finally got it done. You may notice the little TV, which I think Colby is most excited about. We figured we will be spending a lot of time and late nights in there with Brady - a great idea we stole from our friends who just had a baby.
Today we have our Child Birth Class at the Hospital where Brady will be born. I don't know too much about the actual labor process, so this will be interesting. It will be great information for Colby, too. He is a little queasy about this kind of stuff and I hear there is a pretty graphic video, so this should be fun. :)

8 Months!

If you can believe it, I am 32 weeks pregnant. I had my appointment today and I continue to put on the weight. Turns out I am really getting good at that. Brady is growing away and is kicking so hard these days that sometimes it takes my breath away. I am definitely entering the "uncomfortable" stage, but nothing too bad, just a little harder to sit at my desk all day, still not sleeping and getting a little swollen. I can still wear my wedding ring though. The good news of the week is that our Glider FINALLY came in and Brady got into the school we had hoped he would. He was on a pretty long waiting list for September, but luckily we are in! It is a really nice school and several of our friends also take their babies there. We have also added more to the nursery, so I will post some pictures this weekend of that.
