Mr. September

Brady's favorite time of the day. And ours too! Brady typically is the fussiest in the evening and the bath is really the cure. He can be in a red-faced fit and as soon as his little butt hits the warm water, he is happy. He is now big enough to sit, propped up in his tub without the hammock used for newborns. He thinks it is his own personal hot tub, arms propped up, just chillin'. Here are some pics.

Sleep Brady, Sleep!

For about a week now we have been getting Brady more acclimated to his crib. He would sleep in it occasionally, but for the first 7 weeks we pretty much let him sleep wherever he wanted. We were scared to move him once he finally fell asleep, whether it was on one of us, in his swing, or in his vibrating chair, we were just so happy he was sleeping. Now, he is actually sleeping so much more and is starting to really get on a schedule. He sleeps more than twice as much now, as he did when he was a newborn and we are loving it. We are putting him in his crib in the evening around 9:00 and he is sleeping almost 4 hours, sometimes longer. Then he wants to eat and goes right back to sleep. He is still waking up about every 3 hours to eat, but he has really been doing great in his crib. It took several nights of some serious crying, but I think he is getting the hang of it. I am actually starting to feel like myself again. I cannot imagine how it will feel when he sleeps through the night, but right now this is heaven.

Brady has always loved to sleep on his side and no matter how many times I lay him down on his back, he always rolls over into his preferred position. He is always in a completely different position and side of the crib when he wakes up. He scoots around so much during the night that he scoots his diaper right off. I have tried putting it on tighter, but whatever he does in his sleep gives him major plumber's crack.

Brady had his 2 month appointment today and he was right on track. He is now 12 lbs 7 oz and 24 inches long. He had to get his shots today though, which were not fun. I have heard Brady scream and didn't think this would phase me, but when she poked him the first time he screamed like I have never heard before and turned about 8 shades of red. Poor baby! I couldn't watch and for some reason he bled quite a bit. After about two minutes though, he calmed down and seems fine now. Colby might have to take him for his next shots, I don't know if I can stomach it.

Boomer Sooner!!

With football season quickly approaching, we started testing out some of Brady's OU and Tech gear. Sadly, this is his only OU outfit. Colby is way ahead with the Tech booties, onsies, bibs, etc.

Look what I found...

Brady has found his hands and loves them. He goes after them and can almost cram his entire fist in his mouth. It is so cute and he makes the funniest noises. We can't tell if he is going to be a thumb sucker or if he will just stick with his whole hand.

The best babysitter...

...Well, besides Brady's grandparents who have been wonderful, Griffin tries to be very helpful. He really does want to be right next to Brady, although most of the time he just wants to steal his pacifier.

Guns up?

I actually think he is trying to do the OU #1, but we will let Colby have this one.

First Smile...

...well almost. I took about 50 pictures of his almost smile and these were the best. This is what I do when I am home all day. :) They are a little blurry, as every time he smiles he seems to move his head from side to side. But if you look closely, you can make it out. They are still few and far between, but I wanted everyone to have a first glimpse.

Getting the Perfect Picture

There is a lot that goes into getting the perfect picture at this stage. You would think we were torturing our baby. Here is our most recent attempt.

Look how cute I am.

Brady in his favorite spot, the baby Bjorn.

He is 6 weeks today and is almost smiling. We actually have caught a few little ones and they are so cute. He smiles in his sleep all the time, but is just starting to social smile when he is awake. To the untrained eye, you may not see it, but Colby and I know it is there. :) We are having so much fun with him and he is starting to make some big strides in his sleep patterns, but we still have a long way to go. I cannot imagine the women who return to work after 6 weeks of Maternity Leave. There is no way. Brady is starting to nap more during the day, but still only sleeps in 2 1/2 hour stretches at night. Sometimes we get lucky and he will go for 3. I know soon enough I won't have this time with him, so I am trying to enjoy it. It is 5:44am and we have been up since 3:15. He decided to make this his awake time, so I am just hoping we get a nap today.

Brady loves his bath time and is so darn cute in his tub. I have several pictures of him, but he would probably kill me later in life if I put them on the web, so here is one with no baby nudity.

Our two babies.

Just remember, dogs mouths are cleaner than ours. :) Griffin loves Brady and wants to be next to him all the time. Unless he is screaming that is and then he wants to hide in the other room. Griffin is as sleep deprived as we are, with blood shot eyes just like us. He is very protective and if Brady is crying he will look at me like..."are you hearing this? what are you going to do about it?" It is pretty cute.
